Professional Development & Programming Committee

Committee Charge   

The Professional Development and Programming Committee shall oversee and direct NYCCT educational programming including professional development activities. The Chair Elect shall serve as Chair of the Professional Development and Programming Committee.

The Professional Development and Programming Committee is hereby charged with the following duties: 

  • Review suggestions for the Annual Conference, theme, keynote speaker, call for proposals, outreach to community colleges; 
  • Review the format of the Trustee Institute and make recommendations for a second date/location in the year; 
  • Develop educational training sessions for the Assistants to the Boards of Trustees and the Student Trustees 
  • Increase participation of NYCCT members at each event. 

Chair: In accordance with the By-Laws, the Chair of the Professional Development and Programming Committee will be the Chair Elect, Allen K. Williams from Monroe Community College. 

Meetings: Meetings shall take place as necessary and as convened by the Chair in order to meet the deadlines stated in the Charge. 

Quorum: Pursuant to the Association’s By-Laws, a majority of the membership of any committee of the corporation shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.  

Minutes: Minutes for each meeting, whether in-person or conference call, shall be taken by the Executive Director, or in her absence, by a member of the Committee. Draft minutes shall be disseminated to the Committee Members within a reasonable timeframe. Minutes of each meeting shall be approved by the Committee Members at the next meeting date. 

Budget: All costs and expenses to be incurred by the Professional Development and Programming Committee must receive prior approval from the Chair of the Association. Such request shall be put in writing and emailed to the Chair.
